THE NSDTR CLUB OF CANADA REGISTER OF MERIT AWARD IS AVAILABLE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE NOVA SCOTIA DUCK TOLLING RETRIEVER CLUB OF CANADA
The Register of Merit (ROM) and Register of Merit Excellent (ROMX) Awards have been established to recognize a sire or dam’s outstanding contribution to the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever breed in Canada through the accomplishments of their offspring.
Approved ROM and ROMX applicants will receive a congratulatory letter and certificate from the NSDTR Club of Canada recognizing their accomplishment, and will be recognized in Toller Talk as well as the official Club web site.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide all required documentation.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SIRES
ROM
- Accumulate at least 100 points from titles of his progeny; and
- The 100 points must be accumulated from ten (10) individual qualified progeny; and
- Five (5) individual get must have been awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
- At least three (3) individual progeny must have been awarded a CKC Working Certificate or Hunt Test title
- To maintain the versatility of our breed, remaining points are to be from any category except conformation with one exception: 5 points for a championship earned from a recognized, non-CKC organization will be accepted allowing the total progeny with earned Championship titles to be six (6)
ROMX
- Accumulate at least 200 points from titles of his progeny; and
- The 200 points must have been accumulated from twenty (20) individual qualified progeny; and
- Ten (10) individual get must have been awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
- At least six (6) individual progeny must have been awarded a CKC Working Certificate or Hunt Test title.
- To maintain the versatility of our breed, remaining points are to be from any category except conformation with one exception: 5 points for a championship earned from a recognized, non-CKC organization will be accepted allowing the total progeny with earned Championship titles to be eleven (11).
REQUIREMENTS FOR DAMS
ROM
- Accumulate at least 60 points from titles of her progeny; and
- The 60 points must have been accumulated from six (6) individual qualified progeny; and
- Three (3) individual get must have been awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
- At least two (2) individual progeny must have been awarded a CKC Working certificate or CKC Hunt Test titles.
- To maintain the versatility of our breed, remaining points are to be from any category except conformation with one exception: 5 points for a championship earned from a recognized, non-CKC organization will be accepted allowing the total progeny with earned Championship titles to be four (4).
ROMX
- Accumulate at least 120 points from titles of her progeny; and
- The 120 points must have been accumulated from twelve (12) individual qualified progeny; and
- Six (6) individual get must have been awarded the title of CKC Champion; and
- At least four (4) individual progeny must have been awarded a CKC Working certificate or CKC Hunt Test titles.
- To maintain the versatility of our breed, remaining points are to be from any category except conformation with one exception: 5 points for a championship earned from a recognized, non-CKC organization will be accepted allowing the total progeny with earned Championship titles to be seven (7).
RULES
- This is a onetime award which must be applied for by the owner or breeder of the stud dog or bitch. The application is to be completed once all requirements for the award have been obtained.
- All applicants must be a member in good standing of the NSDTR Club of Canada for at least one year before an application is made.
- In order to establish qualification, all documentation must be sent to the ROM Administrator by email or regular post. Please do not send original documents as they will not be returned.
- All qualifying progeny born after July 1, 2008 must be in compliance with the current NSDTR Club of Canada Code of Ethics. The COE can be found at: http://www.toller.ca/code.html
- The name, date and location of CKC title earned must be provided to ROM Administrator as proof of certification achieved by qualifying progeny. Copies of CKC certificates may be requested by the Administrator if he/she is unable to verify titles with the CKC. In the case of titles from recognized, non-CKC organizations, a certificate or official letter from the awarding organization must be sent with the application.
- Only one non-CKC title in each of the accepted disciplines is allowed. Recognized non-CKC organizations are AKC, ARBA, UKC, HRC, NAHRA, KC, FCI and recognized Australasian kennel clubs. Other organizations will be considered case-by-case by the Executive of the day.
- Points are not cumulative. If the dog has earned a WC, it is awarded 10 points. If the same dog earns a WCI, the WCI points replace the WC points (i.e. this dog would have a total of 15 points, not 25).
